Expensive Car, Indie Sticker |
Sure, you're rich now, but you want people to know you're still very fucking indie. |
I’m posting this but I have no idea wtf it represents. Indie? Sad? Weird?
The great thing about European cars is that even if you go for a base model or a little above, you immediately project wealth.
So here we have the Renault Megane. It’s a polarising car (not in the Peter Brock sense) - all due to that rear end.
Some say it’s curvaceous like J-Lo’s behind, others say its just butt ugly.
For people on this site though , in some ways it’s achieving the “indy but rich” ideal all on its own. It’s a Swedish garage band- euro but cool. It’s wealth but arty.
Of course to remove any confusion, the owner whacked the ol’ RRR sticker on it and rather spoiled the effect…
Thanks to contributor Marky Mark for this pic!
This pic is from contributor Sophie who notes the owners of this VW Polo bought the car new and took the old PBS (indie radio station in Melbourne Victoria) sticker off their old car and put it on the new one.
This car and sticker is exactly what this Tumblr is all about- 10/10!
First up: appreciate the lengths your humble correspondent went to in order to bring you today’s image. Yes, we were stationary and I whipped out the phone while on the scooter.
Ok this one is interesting. A Holden Commodore wagon is not your traditional wealthy person’s ostentatious vehicle BUT this one has two stickers that make it post worthy.
On the one hand it has the now seemingly obligatory RRR indie cred sticker. But to enhance their “oh hell yeah I’m rich” a private school sticker has been added.
They have taken a family wagon, upped the ante with the private school angle and then indie-d the shit out of it via RRR.
Well played.
This photo pretty much sums up this site. The dude (and I know this guy!) is saying “Hey I am doing well, but I haven’t forgotten my Triple R heritage…”
